I attended the get together with an old friend and business associate, Chas, who was the person who brought the event to my attention in the first place. We arrived fashionably a couple of minutes late but this was no great hardship as there were very few formalities – just people talking about WordPress. Oh, and let’s not forget the knitting group that was using the other end of the office space!

As I mentioned earlier, the event was being held at IndyCube in the Castle Arcade, which is one of three IndyCube locations in Cardiff. IndyCube is flexible office space in the heart of the city but it’s more than just office space, or so the operators say. IndyCube is predominantly used by freelance workers from all walks of life so, the belief of IndyCube’s operators is that, when people meet other likeminded thinkers they will chat and swap ideas, which is how big things happen. When Chas and I arrived, we spoke to a handful of people about various uses for WordPress, explaining how we used it to build many different types of websites for clients from all industries. We use a number of the same plugins so we were keen to hear of new offerings. Some of the more frequently mentioned plugins from the night were; Next Gen Gallery, YOAST (SEO for WordPress), Contact Form 7, Theme Checker, Google Analytics for WordPress, XML Sitemap Feed and W3 Total Cache. We shared our WordPress experiences with others and chatted about business and, all in all it was an enjoyable evening.

No business deals were forged, nor were any sales made but the evening was pleasant and I will certainly be attending the next WordPress Users Wales event that’s hosted in Cardiff.

Two of the lottery sites are aimed primarily at UK lottery players, offering news, results and ways to buy lottery tickets online, while the third site, Lotto Jackpots, is aimed at US players. The lottery draws covered range from the UK National Lottery or Lotto as it’s also know to the US Powerball and Mega Millions Lotteries, with occasional mentions of of less significant draws, such as the Morrisons Millions.

However, many of our recent visitors to the lottery websites have been looking for information about the Morrisons Millions, as opposed to the usual EuroMillions, Lotto and Irish Lottery results. Even though you can’t check your Morrisons Millions lottery numbers directly from our sites, there is a link the the results checker, allowing you to see if you’ve won free groceries this week.

Going on, it seemed the only thing missing was a more UK lottery based news site. It’s got to the stage that the first place my friends go when they want the lottery numbers is our social networking pages and so the need for a UK based, impartial lottery news site is clearly needed.

Lottery News is a UK based site, bringing as the title suggests, lottery news but this website will be primarily UK based. The launch of Lottery News has coincided with the launch of the new Health Lottery, which has given us plenty to write about over the first week.

We promised we’d keep you updated as we furthered our lottery venture, and so this is the latest update from us at Darkened Wealth. Keep an eye on our new projects though, as we have two brand new websites in the pipe-line, and we can’t wait to tell you all about them!

Now I don’t want to say too much, and so as we launch each site, we’ll give you an update here. This September, two new lottery news websites have been created by Darkened Wealth and both sites currently have a team of writers proving news and content for you.

It’s such a small world now, thanks to the Internet, and interest in lottery jackpots from around the world has never been so high. So many people want to play lottery draws around the world, but it can be a bit of a pain ‘virtually’ trekking around for the information you need.

So first to launch was Lottery Jackpots, news, results and information service for all the major lottery draws around the world. The site is still in its beta stage and no doubt there will be many changes along the way. Watch out over the next few weeks as the content expands to cover every major lottery draw in the world!

Quickly following that is Lotto Jackpots, a little different to the first, Lotto Jackpots will be concentrating just on the big jackpots, with a leaning towards the big American lottery draws and the many state lotteries that are available to play from around the world.

In the next couple of weeks, Darkened Wealth will be bringing you a third lottery news site, the biggest for us, and the most relevant to our UK client base. We’re very excited about this venture, but you’ll have to wait a little longer for the grand launch.

Now our old campervan may not be everyone’s idea of fun, but it’s given us a spring in our step. Running your own business can often make it difficult to take a week, or even a fortnight off work for a holiday, which makes our lovely campervan perfect for us!

Now, we’re self confessed workaholics and we blog for a living, so I guess it was only going to be a matter of time before we started blogging our campervan adventures. Neither of us has ever written a personal blog, despite having years of freelance writing experience, so it’s been a bit of an adventure in itself. We’ve already had a several weekends away in the campervan, and numerous day trips, and right now I am busy documenting it all for you on our new blog. We hope eventually the site will be a mine of information for campers, and personal and interesting to read; plus of course it also serves to allow clients to read our natural writing style (which is just an added bonus really).
